Welcome to the City of Baker Fire Department

The City of Baker Fire department is a 25 member "career" Fire Department which includes an 18 member fire suppression staff, a 7 member administrative staff,and a10 member contract Firefighter/ Opeator staff. We provide fire, rescue and public assistance services to the Baker community.
The  community we serve consists of approximately 13,500 residents in an 8 square mile area from the two 24 hour manned Fire Stations.  The main fire station is located at 3701 Groom Baker, and a sub-station located at 6250 Lavey Lane.
The Chief of the Fire Department reports to the Mayor and 5 member City Council.
The department operates with 2 Engines, 1 Aerial Ladder, 1 Rescue/ District Chief"s truck, 1 Reserve engine,1 Reserve Rescue Unit and 5 Utility/Staff Vehicles of various uses, and a fire safety house.
The Fire Department Operating Budget is approximately $1.2 million dollars excluding Capital Improvement Items.
The Baker Fire Department provides to its citizens a wide variety of services including Fire/ rescue, Basic Life Support, fire safety inspections, monitored fire drill programs in the City Schools  and a proactive approach to fire safety in the community doing public education for children as well as the elderly.
